The key to Spirit Projection, separation of Spirit from the body, is made up of three essential, basic principles; Thought, Light and Sound.
Sound is the most important in this study. It is the creating and sustaining power of all creation, including the physical worlds. The light is to show the pitfalls and the sound is a divine homing device that tells it the direction to travel to the heart of our origin. Both are purifying and uplifting. The way to
achieve higher states of consciousness is to actively partake in the Word, or
voice, of the Source; the light and sound.
The light and sound are the word of the Original Source in expression. The Soul who is able to see and hear It, is in conscious communication with The Source of Life. This connection brings a transformation in consciousness that is noticed by those who are close to the individual. The higher we go, the more enchanting the music, sound or vibration.
It is through Light and Sound that the Universal Spirit or The Source ITSELF can manifest Itself to the human consciousness. Once the spiritual consciousness is awakened in one, especially in one who has learned Spirit Projection, he may hear the sound, and when he feels it, he feels the Divine power and Love. Once anyone has developed the ability for Spirit Projection, the inner spiritual hearing can pick up the sound and purification of the mind and Soul can take place. The Body and Mind are then cleared to be attuned to the higher vibrations.
When the energy of the Sound Current enters into Soul, every part of the light body is illuminated. Soul is purified and taken out of ignorance. When the Holy symphony is heard, the passions lose their power and drop away and the higher ethics come into the life of Soul. This prepares the way for the inner door to
be opened by a Spiritual Traveler or Inner Teacher, also known as the Inner
Master, Vi Guru or spirit guide.
The sound current is nothing more than the Supreme Being projecting itself to all planes in all universes in a constant wave of harmonious and musical vibrations, through which flows the life-giving and creative, all comprehensive power of creation. Cosmic life force is another term for the sounds which the stream of the life current makes in its rushing about the universe. This current or wave contains the sum of all teaching emanating from the center or source of creation.
When we make the connection, that is tune in (as by radio), it is then that we begin our homeward journey, leaving all perishable worlds (worlds of duality) behind us. The Sound is actually the voice of SOURCE, a life giving, creative force. It is the humming of the atoms as they flow out from the great center into the worlds below, via the great wave, which touches all things and containing the sum of all teaching emanating from the deepest regions of the inner universe. This wave is not a river or stream running in a single channel, but more like a radio wave, flowing out in all directions from the center of the Divine Creative kingdom. It is like dropping a pebble in the middle of a pond and watching the
waves, move outward toward the shores and back again.
All sounds connected with religious services are meant directly and indirectly to awaken the inner sound within the listeners. The bells and gongs of churches and temples are for this purpose. Blowing the Shofar in the Synagogue is for
this same purpose. The many chants of the western churches, the mantras used by the Orientals, the horns blown by the yogis, etc, are all used purposely to arouse the sleeping senses of the inner person to their destiny. The Greeks called it the Logos. It is the lost word of the Masonic order. The Neoplatonic mystery schools also knew it, calling it the Divine Word. It is known as the Word, as spoken about in the bible. In Sanskrit it is known as Nam. The Word is known as Nada in the Vedas. The Sufis call it Vadan. It is the ShabdaDun of the
Hindus. Sometimes it is called Bani, meaning heavenly utterance, or the pure melody. Madame Blavatsky, the founder of Theosophy, called it the voice of
Silence. When St. John wrote in the beginning of his Gospel that the word was God, and all things were made by him and without him nothing was made, he was speaking of the Sound. This Sound is the whole of the Divine Being
in action, and includes all of IT’S qualities. IT, the word, is the language of God; the Sound itself represents all attributes of God and Creation and, is the primary way that God can manifest Itself to the human consciousness.
The sound HU is the beginning and the ending of every sound in all life. It was the word that Mohammed heard. Moses heard it on Mount Sinai, Christ found
it in the wilderness, Buddha heard it under the Bo tree, and Krishna played the
same sound on his flute. The Masters of the Varagi Order, an unbroken lineage of Spiritual Masters call it the Eck.
The Sound wave has
two aspects: a centrifugal and centripetal flow. This means, a flowing away from the center of
the heavenly realm and a flowing back to that center again. We are dependent upon this centripetal flow
for the return to our original source.
When a spiritual traveler or inner adept makes contact with us, it is
then that we are starting this original journey to the heavenly worlds again.
This sound is
developed through charkas: six chakras
in the physical body, six in the astral body, six in the causal body, six in
the mental body, and one in the Soul Body.
Each has a distinct sound of its own, though all of them emanate from
the same source. The difference is
caused through the passing from one plane to the other with different
proportions of form and Spirit.
Every manifestation
of life comes from this dynamic energy of the sound current, from the crawling
ant to the thunderbolt. Everything,
including the burning stars in the Milky Way and the flicker of a candle, all
take their light and energy from this great central power. The sound-idea is
related to the oldest methods of healing.
Two things were common in most healing rituals – sound or chanting, and
rhythmic movements, either in dance or stamping. Pythagoras taught that sound was a creative
force and that music held therapeutic benefits to the body.
Spiritual Guides
all point out that to experience this heavenly sound leads to spiritual
liberation and freedom. Without
participation in the sound wave, none can escape the net of karma and
reincarnation. Participation in the
sound wave causes Soul to have a new birth and to enter into the heavenly
kingdom with everything in order, gaining a freedom that it has never thought
to exist. As Soul evolves higher and we
advance into the inner worlds, the music of Spirit becomes greater.
A devotee can chant
the names of the various sounds in each plane that he or she must pass through
in order to reach the Soul region. By chanting
these sounds the seeker is able to lift himself up through the corresponding
planes into the Soul World.
As Soul
collects and concentrates its attention on the spiritual eye, and before the
position is fixed, he will have some preliminary experiences with the inner
sounds and sights. These occur before
Soul is settled down and actually traveling in the inner worlds. Preceding flight, you may hear sounds from a
string instrument like a violin. Then
you may hear the sounds like the tinkling of small bells, progressing to the
ringing notes of a large bell. Following
this are lights similar to the glowing of charcoal, then lightening and finally
a gigantic star may appear.
This abstract sound
has many names. All space is filled with
it. It is always going on within, around
and about all people, but most do not usually hear it because their
consciousness is centered entirely in this material universe. When we can hear this heavenly music, though,
all other sounds become indistinct to us.
Eckankar is what is
sometimes known as Sahaji or Soul Travel, the way of the Sound Current. It has been called by other names in the
past, particularly in India and Persia. It is also defined as Union with God or
Co-Worker with God. It consists primarily in the following of the inner
sound. Soul uses the sound current as
the basic element, out of which the energies it uses can be made to drive it
onward, or for any action that it undertakes.
There is a
phenomenon called the “Dhyana,” When the very sight of a Fully Realized Master,
either in the flesh or inwardly, inspires tremendous affection. It is here that the Sound Current will make
contact with the student in its greatest manner. As Soul goes higher and we advance into the
inner worlds, the divine music becomes greater.
The Eck means “The
Sound Current or Voice of God.” Cosmic
life force, is another term for the sounds which the stream of the life current
makes in its rushing about the universe.
This current or wave contains the sum of all teaching emanating from the
Center of Creation.
Some creative techniques
are connected with the Sound Current.
This is the creative spirit that is also known to Christians as the Holy
Ghost or Comforter. Metaphysicians call
it the Cosmic power.
The
first duty of a true Spiritual Master is to link up Souls with this Sound
Current. The Living Masters of the
highest order have emphasized this Sound Current as the cornerstone of spiritual
projection and separation of spirit from the body.
When
we make the connection, that is tune in (as by radio), it is then that we begin
our homeward journey, leaving all perishable worlds behind us. The spiritual contemplative exercises are the
key to getting in touch with the sound current.
For example; by chanting HU or one’s secret word, a resonation is
created between that persons’ vibration and the universal as represented by HU. If I were to place a vibrating tuning fork
next to another of different size, the other will also begin to vibrate at its
own vibratory rate. This is the law of
resonance and works similarly in the spiritual worlds.
One can chant a
specific word that correlates to a specific plane of action and be drawn to
that plane or world. When one starts to
outwardly chant a powerful word like HU,
the other inner bodies also begin to vibrate and an alignment takes
place allowing Soul more freedom of movement.
The Sound Current can then enter the individual consciousness, uplifting
and purifying it. A resonance takes
place such that every atom in the body is filled with light and vibrates to the
Universal Word of creation.
The word HU is
often used instead of God. The Supreme
Being is called by various names, but the inner circle of ancient spiritual adepts
often know it by HU. It is a secret sacred
name, for it is the origin, the beginning and end of every sound, and is the
background of each word. HU doesn’t
belong to any language. It is said to be
the true name of God. It is the word mentioned in the bible as existing before
light came into this world, as stated in the first chapter of St John.
Every
plane has its own distinct word, for its own function, which is derived out of
the overall current. We can use these
different words to project ourselves to the various planes if this is
necessary. Actually, the words of
themselves are nothing, but as they stir the vibrations of the sound current on
each plane; we are able to hitch ourselves up with them and project to the
world we desire.
The most
interesting thing that we discover is that in order to liberate Soul, we must
listen to the word in everything. The
more we do this, the more our consciousness becomes free from all limitations
of the lower worlds, the worlds of duality, from which reincarnation gains
traction.
Once
we start going out into the other planes by using the sound current, we are
able to control the Soul Body. This
gives us many benefits, not only on the spiritual planes but also on the
physical, including health, economics and longevity. A word must be chanted either silently or
audibly, but always softly and never forcefully.
